7 “TED” Talks That Can Change Your Life

I find small obsessions where I can sit for hours, if the time allows, focused on that one thing. Recently my obsession has been about TED talks. If you aren’t familiar with what this is, it’s basically a platform for people to spread their ideas in the form of short talks. Some can be¬†lengthy, but I wouldn’t bother writing this is it wasn’t worth your time.

I’ve compiled a few that I think are essential for inspiration, particularly for¬†millennials¬†who could use a quick pick-me-up.¬†

LIZZIE VELASQUEZ

Named the ugliest woman in the world by some cyber-bully, she decided to take such a hurtful title and turn it into a purpose.

Born with a condition so rare not only does it not have a name and there are only 3 people known to have it.

11 Signs You’re On The Right Track

Any given moment you are led¬†to a ton of questions that you feel you can’t answer.¬†The pressure can give you a headache and all of a sudden everything you thought you knew becomes¬†a question also. It all gets so confusing! There‚Äôs no right, no wrong and an unlimited number of possibilities to figure it all out.

Maybe, it’s time for you to realize that your only goal¬†is to figure out what works for you and your purpose; so the answers to those questions fall into place. Over time you learn that embracing¬†the journey is far more rewarding¬†than reaching the destination, and that there‚Äôs more to celebrate when you‚Äôre on the road to becoming the person you want to be, if you just take the time to appreciate¬†it.

PLEASE remember: Don’t ever compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Focus on¬†your¬†journey and you’ll see it all unfold the way it is meant to.

On The Couch Today

I love emotion provoking speeches! When a woman makes a speech or says something that makes you think, want to change, or feel better than before she spoke, she should be celebrated. She deserves to sit on the couch today. She = Gabourey Sidibe.

May 1, 2014, Gabourey Sidibe gave a long and beautiful speech at Gloria Awards and Gala. She is¬†radiantly¬†beautiful and for a person to have half of her confidence…they should be so lucky. I posted about her a while back, and she still stands for the same beautiful thing, strength and self-love. Continue reading for excerpts from her beautiful speech.
